Anisoastigmatism

Anisoastigmatism

Anisoastigmatism is defined as having a different amount of astigmatism between the two eyes. If the anisoastigmatism is large between the two eyes, amblyopia (lazy eye) can occur in the eye with the larger amount of astigmatism. It is usually recommended that the anisoastigmatism be treated with glasses that will correct or “zero out” the astigmatism noted in each eye.
